Immortal is the third studio album by American deathcore band Lorna Shore. It was released on January 31, 2020 through Century Media Records and was produced by Josh Schroeder. The album is the band's first studio release with the label. It is also their first studio release to not feature founding vocalist Tom Barber, who left the band to join Chelsea Grin. It is the band's only studio album to feature vocalist CJ McCreery (originally of Pennsylvania-based act Signs of the Swarm), who joined the band in 2018 and was fired in December 2019, a month before the album's release date. In addition to the 2017 departure of bassist Gary Herrera, this marks the band's first studio album to feature no founding members.

Demons & Wizards was a power metal band conceived as a side-project by Blind Guardian vocalist Hansi Kursch and Jon Schaffer, the guitarist for Iced Earth. Schaffer wrote the music and Kursch wrote the lyrics. The band's line-up during the recording of their first album in 1999 (Demons & Wizards) featured Mark Prator, who was the drummer on a few Iced Earth albums, and Jim Morris, who has engineered for Iced Earth before, on lead guitar. The personnel for the second album (Touched by the Crimson King), released in 2005, included Morris on lead guitar and Bobby Jarzombek on drums. The band released a third studio album, III, in 2020, and disbanded in early 2021.

Imperial Triumphant is an American experimental metal band formed in 2005 in New York City. Imperial Triumphant was formed in 2005 by Zachary Ilya Ezrin in New York City. Their first album, Abominamentvm, was released in 2012. Imperial Triumphant's second album, Abyssal Gods, was released in 2015. Described by No Clean Singing's Austin Weber, "Abyssal Gods, is overall a thoroughly vicious act of blasphemy packed with more memorable moments than many bands accumulate in a lifetime of albums". Commenting on the band's effort to date as a whole, Weber stated "Imperial Triumphant are not only one of the most important U.S. black metal acts currently active, truly carving their own stylistic path, but they are also important to the future of black metal."

War Eternal is the ninth studio album by Swedish melodic death metal band Arch Enemy, which was released first in Japan on 4 June 2014 by Century Media. It is the first Arch Enemy album in 15 years since Burning Bridges to feature a new line-up; Alissa White-Gluz took over on vocals after former long-time vocalist Angela Gossow stepped down from vocal duties to be the band's business manager. Additionally, ex-Arsis guitarist Nick Cordle replaced Christopher Amott in 2012. Cordle ultimately left the band just before their European tour and was replaced by former Nevermore guitarist Jeff Loomis.

It was released digitally in Europe on 30 September 2013, and worldwide in digital form and on a limited 1,000 albums 12" vinyl press on 29 October 2013. The EP was made available on Spotify on 3 October 2013. The band released a "forte" version of the EP, as limited gatefold marbled LP (vinyl), limited CD, and digitally on 28 January 2022. It is the last release to feature drummer David Lindkvist, bassist Johan Nyberg, and co-lead vocalist Daniel Adel.

Masstaden (Swedish: "The seagull town") is the debut album by Swedish metal band Vildhjarta. Released on 28 November 2011, the album peaked at 37 on the US Top Heatseekers chart. This was the first release to feature co-lead vocalist Vilhelm Bladin and the last to include founding member (and third guitarist) Jimmie Akerstrom, before he was asked to leave the band in April 2012. Akerstrom was never replaced and thus left Vildhjarta without a third guitarist since his leaving. Masstaden was a breakthrough success and led to positive reviews and an expanded international fanbase. The musical style found on the album, often described by fans as "thall", would continue to influence multiple bands and artists within the djent scene.

Oceans of Slumber is an American heavy metal band from Houston, Texas, formed in 2011.
Their self-released debut album Aetherial was released in February 2013.
Lead vocalist Cammie Gilbert joined the band in 2014, after previous vocalist Ronnie Gates left. Gilbert became the primary lyrics writer for the group after joining.
In 2015, the band signed with Century Media Records. In 2016, they toured with Ne Obliviscaris and Enslaved on a 34 date European tour.
In March 2016, they released their second album, Winter, which received positive reviews from The Houston Press and Metal Injection.
On December 17, 2017, they released the lead single "The Decay of Disregard" off of their upcoming album The Banished Heart. The second single was "The Banished Heart". The third single "No Color, No Light" in February 2018, featuring Tom S. Englund from Evergrey.The album was released on March 3, 2018. The album was included on the list of "50 Best albums of 2018 So Far" by Metal Hammer. The band has been called a "female fronted Opeth" by Noisey. In 2018, the band toured with Insomnium. In 2019, they joined Swallow the Sun as support for their European tour.

Finntroll is a Finnish metal band from Helsinki that combines elements of black metal and folk metal. Finntroll's lyrics are mostly in Swedish, the only exception being the song "Madon Laulu" on Visor om slutet. Finntroll's original singer, Katla, decided to use Swedish over Finnish since he was part of a Swedish-speaking minority in Finland and the sound of the language seemed to better suit the band's "trollish" outfit.Despite several vocalist changes, this tradition has continued.
According to band members Vreth and Skrymer, they took their name from an old Finnish legend where Swedish priests coming to Finland had an encounter with a wild-looking man who killed most of their party. The survivors came back bearing the tale of the Finn-Troll.
